Land Acknowledgement
Wirehead acknowledges that our head office is located in Tkaron:to/Toronto, on the traditional territory of many Nations, including the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, the Huron-Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We recognize that our teams operate in offices and communities across the country, on the ancestral and contemporary lands of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. We're committed to continued learning, respectful relationships, and taking meaningful actions in partnership with Indigenous communities.
Why we acknowledge
A land acknowledgement is a small but meaningful act of recognition — a way of naming the history of the land we work on and the Peoples who have cared for it since long before Wirehead existed. We make this acknowledgement not as a formality, but as a starting point for ongoing reflection, learning, and action.
Actions we're taking
We are early in this work and committed to doing it well. Concretely, we are:
- Continuing to educate ourselves and our team on the histories and contemporary realities of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples in Canada.
- Building respectful, long-term relationships with Indigenous professionals in the I&IT community.
- Reviewing our recruiting and partnership practices to ensure they create real opportunity for Indigenous talent and Indigenous-owned businesses.
This page will be updated as our commitments evolve.
Learn more
We encourage everyone — clients, candidates, and colleagues — to learn more from Indigenous-led sources. A good starting point is the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action, available at rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca.
