DESCRIPTION 

Wirehead is seeking one (1) Senior Technology Project Lead for a 1-year contract in downtown Toronto (work remotely from home through VPN).


Background Information


OPSdocs is a configurable, scalable technology platform which will capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to OPS business and processes. This service has been aligned to support the Information, Privacy and Archives Division (IPA) Enterprise Information Management (EIM) strategy providing the tools to enable Ministries and Clusters to meet their record keeping obligations and comply with information management policies and standards in a consistent manner. Utilizing the OpenText ECM (Enterprise Content Management) Suite, it provides the right mix of tools to manage content throughout its entire lifecycle. 


Deliverables; What you’ll do


The I&IT Consultant will lead multiple client implementations of the OPSdocs service. They will work with a team to introduce a comprehensive technology platform, technical strategy, and integrated architecture. This work may include providing strategic guidance regarding Information Management (IM) technology, IT infrastructure, and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT. They will work in partnership with clients, advising them how to use information management (IM) and/or information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems with the goal of improving the efficiency of an organization’s I&IT systems. 


  • Act as the key liaison between the project and stakeholders including other I&IT clusters, Ministry program areas, and other delivery partners such as ITS. 
  • As the senior technical advisor/expert, coordinate all aspects of OPSdocs implementation deliverables including the supervision of consultants where appropriate. 
  • Plan timelines and the resources needed. 
  • Anticipate and resolve problems to ensure that the deliverables are completed within budget, to the highest quality, meeting or exceeding expectations. 
  • Identify conflicts and communicate deliverable conflicts or issues to the engagement lead or client manager. 
  • Build positive relationships by developing an understanding of business and deliverable needs.
  • Develop mechanisms, frameworks, processes and procedures for implementing the deliverables. 
  • Prepare implementation plans, reports, presentations, including options, recommendations, designs, strategies and change-management options etc. 
  • Work with business analysts to translate the business requirements and functional specifications into an application design appropriate to meet the business and operational/IT needs and define project scope. Assist with the development of business requirements. 
  • Identify project and strategic risks and provide mitigation strategies. 
  • Apply the best practices in design, build, development and deployment, to meet the functional and non- functional requirements, adhering to GO-ITS standards and internal branch standards. 
  • Present solutions in written or oral reports. 
  • Prepare documentation and present progress reports to clients. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices. 


Requirements: What you'll need

 

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications;

  • 5+ years experience leading a team of business analysts, developers, and architects 
  • Demonstrated project management experience on complex and technical projects (including budgets, resources, schedules) 
  • 5+ years experience in waterfall and agile methodologies for the analysis, design, development and implementation of applications in large complex environments 
  • 5+ years experience in implementing comprehensive PKI and 2Factor Authentication solutions in a complex environment 
  • Knowledge of emerging IT trends and directions related to Hybrid, on premise and Cloud development and deployment technologies 
  • Experience working on a Document Management System or/and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) would be considered an advantage 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines 
  • Experience with government IT systems and processes 
  • Knowledge of OPS Enterprise Architecture artifacts (or similar), processes and practices, and ability to produce technical documentation that comply with industry standard practices 
  • Knowledge of the OPS TRA process
