DESCRIPTION

Our Government client is seeking One (1) Data Architect for a 6-month contract + extension located in downtown Oakville. 

The requirement of this engagement is to identify the current state of data management through an enterprise systems data inventory and assessment. The goal will be to produce recommended actions to mature data management practices over the remainder of the five-year strategic plan (4 years). 

Requirements: What you'll need

 

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications;

  • Experience with a minimum of five (5) major data management assessments of medium sized organizations, and/or 3 major multi-year ERP engagements of large organizations in the past 10 years where you performed the role of Data Architect or Data Lead 

  • Strong Data Management experience including but not limited to Cloud technology and associated Integration, Enterprise Systems such as ERP and associated data for functional areas of BI/Reporting/Analytics, CRM, Finance, HR and Student Information Systems, ideally in Higher Education environments 

  • Demonstrable experience in data leadership including your previous roles driving data architecture in an enterprise, establishing data governance, and the tactical and operation tasks of data stewardship across functional and technical domains including procedures to improve data quality and day to day process automation. 

  • Demonstrable approach to performing analysis and visualizing complex information into consumable and actionable recommendations using expert skills in various office productivity software/domain tools (MS Office including Visio, outputs of database extracts including data dictionary if applicable, system interface maps etc. 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills including tactful verbal and written communication to foster cross functional collaboration and results-based behaviour and outcomes. 


Deliverables; What you’ll do

  • Validation of the Approach with Sponsor and Stakeholders 

  • Development of an MVP/milestone-based plan and participation in daily stand-up to gain 

  • commitment to provide information from sponsor, stakeholders and subject matter experts 

  • Perform discovery work and gap analysis workshops 

  • Provide artifacts and documents in a variety of formats including visualization and presentation of information for dissemination to a variety of stakeholder groups at various levels of understanding 

  • Attend and/or present at IT Leadership and/or Portfolio workshops 

  • Finalize a report for review, discussion, updates and final presentation with all created artifacts and documents in appendices
