Our Government client is seeking One (1) SharePoint Application Architect for a 16-month contract located in downtown Toronto.


Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as an application architect using SharePoint
  • Experience working as an Application Architect in the Health Care sector
  • 5+ years experience developing with SharePoint 2010 or higher
  • Experience installing, configuring, including FAST search for SharePoint 2010.
  • Extensive knowledge of client side web development
  • Knowledge of current software and tools such as .Net languages, Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, Event Receivers, MOSS/SOM, InfoPath, page and template development and SharePoint features to enable secure remote access to and use of SharePoint services and participate in or provide support to initiatives to develop web application.
  • Knowledge of SQL server 2008 R2/2012 (or higher), SQL server Reporting, Analysis, Integration Services and their interface with SharePoint functionality to facilitate data management, reporting and integration with other software such as MS Office.


  • Design, build and maintain applications within the business-critical SharePoint environment that provides document/knowledge management, communication and collaboration (intranet) as well as the platform for the external website.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, development, implementation and deployment of SharePoint functionality.
  • Evaluates needs and develops multiple solution application options that satisfy the requirements, selects and recommends a solution and provides supporting justification.
  • Reviews privacy legislation and infrastructure and application security requirements and measures and ensures that SharePoint and new web applications are compliant.
  • Designs, develops and supports application solutions and uses the core functions of SharePoint including logical web pages, sites and site collections and custom coding and web parts that leverage SharePoint strengths in web content management and code reusability.
  • Recommends and implements strategies to integrate functionality such as mapping, data visualization and other requirements into the SharePoint platform.
  • Works with IM/IT colleagues to ensure that technical and architectural developments, implementations and support activities are coordinated.
